TKB Silent Auction Rules

  1. By bidding in TKB’s silent auction, each bidder agrees to these auction rules.
  2. All sales are final. There will be no exchanges or refunds unless otherwise noted. All items are “as is.” TKB has made all reasonable effort to describe all items correctly and accurately, but neither warrants nor represents and in no event shall be responsible for the correctness of descriptions, genuineness, authorship, provenance or condition of the items. No statement made in written descriptions, or made orally at the auction or elsewhere, shall be deemed such a warranty, representation, or assumption of liability.
  3. The auction item reserve price is a percentage of an estimate of fair market value. Items have not been appraised unless so noted. TKB provides no guarantees or warranties regarding the market value of auction items.
  4. Auction item transactions are considered cash donations to TKB and not purchases for tangible or intangible items.
  5. Payment must be made in full within 24 hours of completion of the auction. If this is not achieved, the second highest bidder will be offered the item. TKB accepts cash or cheque made payable to The Kokken Boys Inc. Direct Debit and Credit Card payments will also be accepted via the TKB website. Evidence of transfer within 24 hours will secure the bid, however clearance of funds will be required before the item will be handed over.
  6. The successful bidder must pick up all items the night of the auction, unless special arrangements are made. Any item left unclaimed, without prior arrangements, will be sold and proceeds will go to TKB.
  7. TKB reserves the right to add or withdraw items, without notice, to or from the auction.
  8. Each person bidding assumes all risks and hazards related to the auction and items obtained at the auction. Each bidder agrees to hold harmless from any liability arising indirectly from TKB, their elected and appointed officials, members and employees, the auctioneer(s), event organizers, sponsors, and/or volunteers connected with the auction.
  9. The eight most valuable items in the auction (the football jumpers, Medallion Club seats and signed cricket bat) have unpublished reserve prices, which are different to the minimum opening bid. TKB reserves the right to hold over these items if bidding does not reach the reserve price.
  10. For successful online bidders outside of Melbourne, not present on the evening, the delivery of the item will be the purchaser’s responsibility. For successful online bidders in Melbourne, not present on the evening, TKB will deliver the item.

Silent Auction Bidding Process

  • To make a bid for an item, simply mark your name, address/phone number/email and the amount you wish to bid on the corresponding sheet. The opening bid on each item must be at least the minimum price listed.
  • Each subsequent raise must follow the increment listed. Any bids not adhering to this format will be declared invalid and voided.
  • There is no “upper limit” for your bids! If the bid sheet is full, please turn it around and continue on the back or request a second sheet from a TKB Volunteer continuing to adhere to the increment set on the item.
  • Once the auction is declared closed, the last bid entered on the bid sheet that adheres to the designated increment shall constitute the winning bid and will be so marked.
  • The TKB Committee will mediate any disputes among bidders and that determination shall be final.
